Our creative and flexible approach and careful attention to detail brings imaginative proposals to realisation through skilful and professional design administration and technical know-how.

Advisory Service

By arrangement, we visit your premises to discuss and assess your lighting requirements

Based on this information, we prepare a proposal with suggestions, recommendations and a detailed quotation for the supply of equipment. If required we shall prepare drawings to assist the installer.

If architect's or designer's drawings are available, these will assist us in offering advice in the absence of a site visit.

The cost for the Advisory Service is limited to an hourly charge for site visits and appointments*.[Minimum charge one hour for each visit]

Any drawings will be charged on a time basis.

Other costs for preparing the proposals are recovered through the supply of specified equipment.

Although we do not install we are able to suggest suitable contractors to undertake the work.

Fee based consultancy

Our consultancy service is designed with flexibility in mind to suit individual client requirements.

The service is initiated by an introductory meeting to assess the project and define the scope of works. The project is formalised by agreement and is divided into fee stages :-

Stage 1: Creative planning and presentation of ideas
Stage 2: Survey
Stage 3: Design Development
Stage 4: Contract documents
Stage 5: Supervision and monitoring of the project is undertaken in association with other parties to ensure that intended specifications have been implemented. Documents are prepared for maintenance and record purposes.

The stages are organised to follow a comprehensive and logical sequence. However stages may be omitted - for example a survey may not be required if accurate information already exists.

The client is offered an option at the end of each stage to proceed to the next level.

Specifications are prepared by Chelsea Lighting Design for the purpose of procurement by the client or appointed representatives.

Design and programming of control systems

Chelsea Lighting Design is authorised by Lutron in the design and programming of  Grafik Eye  and HomeWorks  residential systems, including  Sivoia QED  motorised blinds.

We also work with other manufacturers controls and systems. These include Mode, I-Light, Crestron and Rako.

Audio Visual / Entertainment systems

We liaise closely with audio visual [AV]consultants to deliver a complete package for control of entertainment systems and lighting and are able to recommend companies in this specialist area.

We have two-dimensional CAD capabilities and Relux lighting simulation software allowing us to import and export drawing information and lighting simulation data electronically.

Sourcing product

Through our extensive product database we are able to source and supply lighting products from a comprehensive range of manufacturers. We are constantly adding to and updating this information. 

Special products

We have the means to design, source and liaise with specialist companies and manufacturers in the production of non-standard luminaires.
