The Indian festival Diwali 'Festival of Lights' celebrates the victory of good over evil , light over darkness.
The date of the Festival falls on the day of the new moon and marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. It lasts for five days, the third day being the actual day of Diwali and involves prayer, song, lights and fireworks. Families gather together in celebration to eat lots of food and sweets.
