MJAA table lamp, designed in 1929 byJacques Adnet [1901 - 1984] a great exponent of Art Deco French Modernism. The name MJA stands for' Memory of Jacques Adnet' and the piece first went into production in 2005 having previously only existed as a prototype. Jacques Adnet was director of 'La Compagnie des Arts Francais' with other distinguished members such as Francois Jourdain, Charlotte Perriand and Georges Jouve. The shade rotates about the axis through 180 degrees As with most great design objects his work has stood the test of time and sits comfortably within modern surroundings. The structure is brass with a polished finish of palladium, a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal discovered in 1803 by William Hyde Wollaston
