TALIESIN 2, TALIESIN 3![]() A selection of lights designed by American architect and interior designer Frank Lloyd Wright [1867 -1959] The Taliesin 2 and 3 are floor lamps in two sizes, constructed in cherry wood and a more recently introduced version in walnut. Frank Lloyd Wright promoted 'organic architecture' in which architecture strives to integrate space into a unified whole and a building grows naturally from its environment [example : Fallingwater] and his work was both original and innovative at this time. He also designed many of the interiors including furniture and lighting. He was recognised in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as " the greatest American architect of all time ". Taliesin is the name given to his summer home and studio near Spring Green, Wisconsin and for which these fittings were designed. His winter home Taliesen West is in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has been offering reproductions of his decorative designs since 1986 and in partnership with the Yamagiwa Corporation these high quality light fittings have been crafted using the original designs and construction methods.
