Is it "bulb" or "lamp" ?

"Bulb" is the commonly used lay term for an electric lamp and particularly the "tungsten filament lamp".

The trade term used to describe any artificial light source is "Lamp" and includes all types.

The term lamp is also used colloqially to descibe certain light  fittings as in "table lamp" or "floor lamp"
